Resident 2019

12/18/2019

I have submitted 12 requests in 9 months to have my shower repaired. The way the shower was installed, water hits the curb and flows onto the floor outside the shower, not back into the shower (as a properly designed frameless shower should do -- this is a faulty installation and not a design flaw). This is more than a little nuisance problem, but rather one that could lead to long term water damage and mold. I have been asking for an appropriate fix since I moved to the apartment in April 2019; management keeps trying the same thing over and over despite the fact their fixes don't work. They also have been treating me like I don't know what I'm talking about; I assume this is in hopes I will just go away. NOW, after I have lost my cool and escalated the issue (mind you, this is after an email to the management sat unanswered for over 30 days) I've been told that (paraphrasing) "oh, our showers are made to look pretty, but they will leak. Deal with it because we won't fix it." This is utter nonsense as it is not a "little leaking" but rather it soaks an entire bath towel after just two showers are taken. Neither the management nor owners are willing to work with you to get to an appropriate solution for serious problems. They are clearly not dedicated to the property, it's long-term viability, nor maintaining long-term tenants. While my leasing experience was very pleasant and professional, they've had significant staff turnovers and it feels as though the current management could care less. I have to say that for the level of rent paid at the Alexander, you would expect a more professional response to a serious installation defect. I have photos and videos that I have shared with management to show the the extent of the problem and how their "fixes" do not help, but they continue to ignore the root cause. Despite the great location and nice units, I can not recommend the Alexander given this on-going fiasco and lack of response by the owners/management.
