I am not sure where to begin. I have lived at The Nevadan for about a year now and I wish I had read more reviews and talked to the tenants first. Painful lesson however, lesson learned. I will never in my life chose to live at a complex that is managed by First Communities Management. I was actually excited when we first moved in but, I should have known right away when our Welcome mat was stolen on the first night we started moving in that it was only going to get worse. The maintenance crew is a joke. The one issue we reported when first moving in is that the fireplace was filthy and needed cleaned. By the time they sent someone to clean it, our new furniture was already in place. I m glad I was in the other room to stop most of the damage. They cleaned the chimney and then proceeded to use a Shop Vac to vacuum up the mess. Well actually, they caused a bigger mess because anyone should be able to figure out what is going to happen when you try to vacuum up soot! It was all over the new furniture, covered the walls, carpet, everything. Even the air in the apartment was black. The real issue with this place is the management. For basically the full term of the lease we have had issues with our upstairs neighbors and their 3 year old. The kicker is that all parties involved the upstairs neighbors, the management, and us, admit they are too loud and that there is an issue. The jumping is so bad that maintenance has had to come in and replace our fluorescent lights multiple times because the bulbs were loose or broken from the vibrations. The gym equipment isn t maintained and it takes months to get a work order in to fix it when it breaks. They hire the cheapest labor and it shows. They recently painted (spray painted) the hand rails for all the stairwells in our building and the paint was everywhere, all over doors and door knobs, Welcome mats and vehicles that were parked too close to the building. Back in December, the retaining wall collapsed on top of several vehicles due to heavy rain and the fact it wasn t built properly. The needed drainage pipes due to their height (which any decent contractor would know) and they were either incompetent or to cheap. They only good thing I have to say about the place was that the newly renovated apartment I moved into was very nice and the appliances were all new. Don t just take my word for it, read the rest of the reviews and take a moment to talk to some residents like I wish I would ve done. I would have saved myself a year of heartache.
