The staff are amazing. They're helpful, courteous, and easy to work with. The people running the day-to-day of the Ayla are gems. The building and grounds are clean and well-maintained. All of the interior amenities were just refreshed before I moved in. They are still in tip-top shape. My maintenance requests are responded to and fixed usually same-day. They did not hesitate to give me a new washer/dryer when mine was on the fritz. My unit is in good condition. I was informed when I gave my deposit I'd have a room with the fake wood flooring and different finishes. 12 hours before my move in I was told that the floor was polished cement and that it was an ADA unit (major difference). It was presented as my only option. My unit is quiet. Sound really doesn't travel easily between the units. I can occasionally hear footsteps above me, but this is the quietest apartment I've ever lived in. There are active construction sites on 3 of the 4 sides of the property. Expect significant noise between 7-5pm Monday through Saturday until summer 2023. Thankfully, the windows are high-quality and significantly reduce noise. The parking area is overrun by the various construction projects. It is challenging to leave the building during working hours on a week day. The fire alarm has gone off at least 12 times in the 6 months I have lived here. That, plus alarm inspections, have been annoying. At least half have been in the middle of the night. We are not given any communication as to what is causing this. When they go off, it is typically for 5-15 minutes. The later at night it goes off, the longer it takes to resolve. I made an unfortunate error in not updating my banking information in my resident portal, thus causing a "bounce". It was resolved in less than 5 minutes and my rent was paid the day it was due, but that mistake cost me $400. $100 for the "bounce" and $300 for it being considered "late" since the payment failed. Beware that the fee for lateness is 10% of your total rent. It's all automatic. There is no grace period. The community is filled with residents that are friendly and personable. There are community events to take part in too. People tend to be outgoing and open. You should live here if location is at the top of your list.
