Resident 2009

11/30/2009

I would like an award.

I am surprised I have stuck it out to the end of my lease!! I should get an award. Looking over the reviews I have the same complaints as the other reviewers... which means... ITS NOT CHANGING GUYS! MANAGEMENT CLEARLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ALL THE AWFUL REVIEWS. SO FUTURE RESIDENTS- LISTEN UP! Its appeal was the reasonable pricing and urban living feel. The first month (with no neighbors in the C building) was reasonable. It was hard to fit all my things in the awkward and small floor plans. I had to have a few things fixed in the begining but no major issues. My first few utility bills were very high due to the poorly sealed windows and concrete. I figured these were things I could learn to live with though. Then I got a neighbor. Who partied and/or left there TV on through ALL hours of the night. I would have to leave my own bedroom and sleep on my couch just to get a few hours of sleep. The walls are so thin that I can here my neighbors cough, cook, walk, talk, cell phone ring, you name it... it's like living in a dorm. And sadly- I'm sure they hear me too! Its the poor construction. Not to mention the awful smells. Its gagging. If you get a neighbor who smokes or cooks a lot, it will stink up your entire apartment.I eventually had to resort to moving my bedroom into my living room just so I could sleep at night! My dishwasher has been broken since I moved in (11 months ago). I've complained of a terrible smell coming from an unknown source in my kitchen and it has not been addressed. I am a very clean person and it has been a task of tolerence to put up with the cheap and dirty appliances, that no matter how much you clean, still look awful and germy. I am not looking forward to the end of my lease in a month, when I have been warned I will not get my deposit back. I'm sure the excuse will be the broken dishwasher that they never fixed! But I also can't wait to get out because despite the security guards, the crime has increased the last few months and we've been already been warned that packages could start disappearing around Christmas time. Pro- atleast we got the warning?
