I hate posting this because Post Parkside has been our home for the past three years but I would definitely not recommend this property to friends or family. The location is amazing but there are similar properties in the area that I would recommend over Post. Although we experienced multiple situations that were secondary to the location and city living (car break in, mail theft, homeless peeing/sleeping on property, etc) there were two serious situations that were caused by management neglect. First, gross negligence caused us to be without hot water and electricity for an extended period. The hot water heater, which is in a locked closed that we don't have access to, was not maintained properly. The plumber estimated that this damage occurred over a year of neglect and could have resulted in a fatal explosion if we had not previously lost hot water. The second incident occurred when our personal firearm, which was placed in a partially secured safe in our apartment, was stolen. There were never any break-ins to our apartment, which have led us, and the detective, to assume that it must have been someone with a key to our apartment. This experience has made us feel unsafe in our own home. My husband and I are starting a family and moved into a home about three months before our lease ended. We were hoping that in light of these situations, and the fact that we were good tenants for three years, the property could be flexible with our lease termination. The property manager told us that he would check into it, which took over a month and a half, with us asking for updates regularly. I completely understand paying the termination fees but what's upsetting is that we weren't a priority to the property. What really stings is that the property manager told my husband that they have already leased out our apartment to another tenant so Post isn't losing money on us leaving.
