Resident 2021

9/4/2021

This is in regard to Unit 4113 (You have been warned) 1) Leased a unit as an out of town move-in, arrived and the unit I leased wasn't actually available! So they put me in a different unit, different floor plan. 2) Arrive at my new home and the apartment has not been turned-over, there is visible black mold growing on a door, every single drawer and cabinet appears to have significant water damage and mold growth and there is trash in some of the drawers (side note: there is a checklist posted on the door that it had already been punchlisted TWICE). In addition, they assure me that no water damage has occurred in the unit to their knowledge 3) over the course of 2 months the drawers are gradually replaced and I was told the mold was cleaned (but all they did was paint over it, which doesn't do anything). 4) after developing respiratory and other symptoms consistent with toxic mold, I ask management to look into it, given the obvious mold issue from when I moved-in (side note: they first told me that the mold patch on the door was "just dirt", as if I am an idiot). Meanwhile, no one does anything about the mold issue, they just replaced the air filter in the A/C unit and told me to "open my windows". 5) I have my own third-party mold company come and clean the air ducts and perform a mold test at a cost of $800, only to find that there are MULTIPLE SPORE COLONIES of a) Cladosporium (consistent with water damage), b) Penicillium/Aspergillus, c) Aureobasidium, d) Curvularia, e) Stachybotrys (black mold), f) Chaetomium, g) Pestolatia, h) Nigrospora, i) Periconia smuts in levels that are triple what they should be and some of these shouldn't register at all in a healthy living environment. 6) Chris, the property manager is notified of this and is more concerned about the fact that I hired a third-party to investigate than anything, I have since heard nothing from them after sharing all of this information. 7) THE WORST PART ABOUT THIS IS THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS BEFORE I MOVED IN, I CONTACTED THE PREVIOUS TENANT AND THERE WAS A MASSIVE WATER LEAK FROM THE UNIT ABOVE THAT THEY NEVER REMEDIATED, LIED TO ME ABOUT, AND IT TURNED INTO THIS MOLD ISSUE. Pictures below to back-up my claims. If you move here and there are somehow absolutely no problems with your unit then you will probably not mind living here. If you have anything wrong that will cost them more than a fresh coat of paint or an air filter, your concerns will be met with lies, gas lighting, unresponsiveness, and condescending suggestions. This is not unique to me. Management did the same thing to the tenant before me. Utterly disgraceful.
