Resident 2010 - 2012

10/17/2012

I lived at Greystone at The Woodlands from January 2010 through October 2012 (a little more than two and a half years). I LOVED it there. My apartment (#1206) was a two-bedroom unit on the second floor. I've never seen such a spacious apartment or a floor plan that was as efficient. My apartment had a sun room, which quickly became my favorite room, rain or shine. My apartment had two huge walk-in closets, plus a large closet in the sun room, a big coat closet, a linen closet, and a giant pantry. I had washer and dryer hook-ups in a nice-sized laundry room. As one would expect in the course of more than two years, I had a handful of maintenance issues, but they were always taken care of VERY quickly. The management went to great lengths to ensure problems were addressed as quickly as possible. The complex provides 24-hour emergency service as well...and they mean 24-hour. The grounds always felt like I was driving into a country club. The lawns are maintained constantly. The landscaping is kept trimmed and shaped. It is difficult to find any stray trash on the property as they have maintenance people constantly moving around the property who make sure it is all picked up. Of course, I think most residents appreciate living in a nice complex and do their parts, too, to keep things looking nice. Being single, I was concerned about moving into a family-friendly complex, but I can say once I was there even this grumpy old man had no problems at all. The apartments have great noise insulation and no one let their kids run rampant around the complex. There were a lot of military families at The Woodlands. I was proud to live among our service personnel and they were all very kind people. The complex had a rash of car break-ins earlier in 2012 and the apartment management was very proactive in stopping them. That was the only security issue that I know of and even though I know folks in my building were affected by it, I think it could happen anywhere at any time. To me, an organization isn't rated by something going wrong, but by how it responds when something does and Greystone Properties is just bout flawless in this respect. The people really make this complex great. Helen and Judy in the office are absolutely outstanding. They look out for everyone. When I had surgery in December 2010 and couldn't leave my apartment for almost a week, they would call and make sure I was okay and ask if I needed anything. Ray, the groundskeeper, would come by and get my trash for me. Also, I give props to Buddy, the complex's maintenance worker. He's amazing. He knows every unit inside out and responds to everything with lightning speed. Greystone at The Woodlands was a fantastic place to live. Regardless of how bad my day was, I always looked forward to coming home to my apartment.
