Resident 2013 - 2019

8/12/2019

This is the worse place I have ever lived. No one is ever at the leasing office and the maintenance people never fix anything. Someone broke into my apartment last month through the patio door and it hasn't been repaired yet. My a/c is currently not working and I can't get in touch with anyone to repair it. It's sad how it is and I pay rent faithfully.

I have lived at the Forest at Columbia Apartments for 4 years. I did read the other comments and I totally disagree. The management lady - Ms. Karen has been a blessing for me and my family. It is a very quite older community but I love it. I love my neighbors and I would recommend the property. Now, I do agree that their is a trash problems sometimes. I have witness kids taking the trash out and the bag bursting.

There is mold growing in all the apartments, if you don't treat it yourself it want get treated. Maintenance means none exist because you will have to do it all yourself. That was the case under the old management and that's still the case under new owner but same manager. There will never be anyone in the office except when rent is due. And there are no dumpers but a trash compactor which is already smelling. People always leave their trash bags outside of it or is it the kids that knock on your door at all time asking to take your trash out for $1. They will take it but they will drag it all the way and if the bag breaks leave it where it is and want tell anyone. Grass will be cut but no bushes. You can hear everything through the walls because there is no installation which means when you run your hear it air it just pull harder because no apartment has this and they don't have weather seals around the doors of Windows unless you do it yourself. When someone move out they will move… See More>

This is the VERY WORST apartment I hablve lived in. 60% or more of the building do not have any living in. Those building are not secured properly, has broken windows, and all apartments are infested by the what we in the south call flying roaches, are flying water bug's. They also have mold. Don't try calling maintenance because they want come due to them being drunk or drugged up. The children only come out at night between the hours of 10pm - 3am (DFACS NEEDS TO BE CALLED) unsupervised because their mothers simply don't care. THIS IS THE GETTO. Open drug sales, women being dear in the street by their boyfriends in the middle of the night, drag racing all times of the night, children knocking on your door begging to take your trash out for a dollar because their mothers want use the stamps they get to feed them. If you tell management it's a joke, they don't care. And Getto trash music is blasted all night long because tjese getto people are sleep during the day. Most people that are still there are only collecting a check. As… See More>

I wanted to try and move in here. I am so glad I went in many times. After trying to get someone on the phone I went to the location. The only person on the phone was never there again, and she told me their were availabilities when their were none. The space, price and, location was exactly what I wanted but the lady who I talked to in the leasing office was so dumb I don't even know what she was even doing there. She had no knowledge of anything about the property. I'm so glad I encountered her dumb butt so I knew to quickly leave and find somewhere else, rather than risk staying at the forest.

These apartments are terrible. Since i have been here these apartments have been through about 4 to maybe five different management. The noise here is awful. There is loud music playing and too much loud cursing and fighting all the time. Some neighbors just dont respect one another. The grounds is terrible. They do enough to keep the front looking nice, but the back looks awful to the point where you question, whats the purpose of having a patio if you cant enjoy it?When it comes to safety these apartments gets a 0. The security gate at entrance have not worked in years. There are people hanging out all times of the night and to see your residence on t.v ok that speaks for itself. The neighborhood could be better if people take pride in where they live. Maintenece sucks a million times. They do not respond in a timely matter or believe in keeping their property up. The staff is also terrible. All i can say is they are not right and will try and make your life a living hell.

I currently live in the Forest at Columbia and they do not come fix anything and if they do you have to complain 50 times. They have young men standing outside in front on the neighborhood everyday selling drugs. I live in a two bedroom and I refuse to let my child sleep in a the other room because the windows needs to be insulated. Winter time it becomes ever cold. You have loud music all time of the night. The people in the office are nice but the over all apartments are horrible

                    Roach Haven

This is the worst place to live...Roaches is covering the kitchen and bathrooms like it is the thing to do. They are so bold they travel all throughout the apartments, bedrooms , livingroom etc. It takes weeks for maintenance to fix repairs, even if you are a good paying renter. Children playing out in the parking lot while balls are flying near your car windows. Drug Dealers sell in front of the complex, and drug addicts are your neighbors. Management seems to have a problems when you inquire about your business. Bridgett is very professional while the assistant is a HOOD RAT...HOT MESS AND IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL. BE AWARE THERE ARE MANY BREAKINS...IN OCTOBER 2010 FOUR PEOPLE WHERE BURGALARIZED...

                      Don't trust the Forest

When I moved into the Forest at Columbia, I didn't exactly think that I would be living in a forest. There are bugs everywhere. Maintenance does not answer your calls until they feel like it. By the time they get to fixing whatever you needed fixed, you would have fixed it by yourself already. Don't move here. Trust me, it looks nice but it is far from it. The buildings are falling apart and you find a new species of bugs everyday. You can't even fix yourself something to eat without bugs coming out to get some. This is the worst place I have ever lived. And I used to live in the projects. The projects were better then these apartments. BE WARE...JUST BECAUSE IT SAYS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY HAVE GOTTEN ANY BETTER. WHEN YOU SEE THESE APARTMENTS.....RUN!!!

                        Stay away

This community has a great location to everything, but unfortunately the community is run down. They promise a gated community gate has been broken for months, they promise a courtesy officer, a police officer seen every now and then, like many other low income communities the mangement does give much care to people who are not exactly rich, the assistant manger is nice the manager is not, so look further trust me, it is not worth the time.
