I was extremely displeased living at Novo Avondale and was counting down the days to moving out. In June 2019 when I signed a lease I was promised a pool by September 2019, a fitness center "in a few weeks" and TWO dog parks. When I moved out in March 2020, none of those amenities were provided. I used the fitness center twice before it closed down due to "maintenance" & then COVID-19. Sure, it's brand new and I guess that meant they were in a huge rush to get it built because I constantly had problems with my apartment. Everything was falling apart & they turn the water off for two or three days ALL THE TIME. SAFETY - sure there is a gate and they pride themselves on a "gated community". However, they constantly have construction workers in & out of the apartment for remodeling. One morning I found a homeless man sleeping in the apartment building. Do your research on the area before committing and make sure you are comfortable with it. We were told 24/7 security and when I first moved in there was a security guard in a golf cart all the time. When I found this homeless man, no security guard in sight. I had to go to work & call leasing after they opened up. When I called I asked about security and if we still had one. The response was "oh we have off-duty officers that live there, call them" That's great! But how was I supposed to know that? They never once told the community that. What if that was a really bad situation and I needed security ASAP. This is clearly run by new management trying to make a bad area good again. Just make sure you are completely aware of the area and the management before moving.
