Pines on Scott Apartments
Resident · 2003 - 2006
I lived at the Pines on Scott for several years. While this was a few years ago I would still wholeheartedly recommend these apartments. I'm even considering moving back. Here's the good stuff: The location is wonderful. You can walk to downtown Decatur and there's a front (Scott Blvd) and back entrance (Superior) to the apartments so there's easy access. The price is amazing for the area. The area is very safe. I lived there alone & never felt unsafe. The apartment was spacious for one or two people (I had a two bedroom). The property manager is great and very professional and just an all around good person. The not so great: The laundry room only had 3 washers and 3 dryers. You would have to go at an odd time to use them since I don't believe any of the units have W/D connections. Occasionally the dryer wouldn't work & you'd have to pay another dryer to get your clothes done. Laundry could turn into a day-long event. The apartments are old (as most are intown) so the walls are a bit thin. But you expect this in this area. However, most of the neighbors kept noise to a minimum. The kitchen was tiny, but I'm not much of a cook so it wasn't a big deal. All in all, my negatives are picky and things you have to expect in an older apartment. The positives definitely stand out to me. Safety, great price, great location.
