Resident 2008 - 2009

10/12/2009

Only good for Students & People that don't mind noise

I move into Milstead Village December of 2008. I loved our new shiny stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, pretty landscaping, and convenience to KSU. When we moved in there was a special going on to where you received 3 hours free with movers---I lived in the Kennesaw area so I knew this would be more than enough time. A week before I was scheduled to move, the moving company called me to say there was a mix up with my move and that I couldn't move on the weekend because it wasn't apart of the special. The leasing agent NEVER stated this. I got it worked out, then they tried to tell me I only got one hour for free, I had to argue back and forth because they were just straight up lying at this point. Got moved in and everything was going well......Then we started to notice that the walls are PAPER THIN. I can always hear my neighbors open and close their doors, talking in the hallways or court yard, I can hear them blasting music from the pool at 8am in the middle of the week, dogs barking, etc....Then when I first moved in, they told us the gates would be closed 24 hours a day starting a month after we moved in because they just upgraded the system--NOT TRUE. The front gate is ALWAYS OPEN and/or broken...My roommate has had multiple problems with cockroaches in her room and bathroom and she's a fairly clean person....Then we had a RAT problem. We thought we saw a mouse in our apartment so, I complained to management. Maybe a week later, an Orken man came out and only set out sticky traps in our aparment---if there is a mouse problem, this wouldn't solve it. Then I repeatedly saw BIG RATS on the ground floor of my building, at least 5 or 6 of them. I complained twice to the management office before they finally sprayed around the building. Did I mention that everyone who lives here pays $3 a month for pest control? I wonder what that money goes towards. Then, after they sprayed, we saw multiple dead rats around the complex. Gross......Now, there is a parking issue. Tenants and their visitors have decided it's totally okay to park on both sides of the street between the 900 and 1000 buildings leaving only one space to drive through to get in and out. Also, they are parking in a fire lane. I complained about 4 times to the management and never got a response. So I called Cobb county police, they told me they couldn't do anything about it because it is private property. So, I complained AGAIN to the management and they told me that they would do something about it. It still happens ALL OF THE TIME, so obviously the management just does not care that people are parking in a fire lane. Once, someone was parked in front of an actual fire hydrant and the manager told me they would give them a warning before towing them-So, you're telling me that if a building was literally on fire, they would tell the people that lived in the burning building, "Oh sorry, your home is burning down, but we have to give the person a warning first.." Basically, the management SLACKS off and doesn't care and still wants your money. So, if you're a college student that doesn't care about noise, parking issues, and doesn't mind a management staff that doesn't care, this place is for you! :)
