I moved in because of the price, the proximity to my workplace, and the grounds and pool/tennis court area looked well kept. The apartment I was shown was not the one I wound up with--it wound up not being "ready" to even see until the day I'd scheduled to move in. In fact, when I showed up to do the walk-through at noon on my move-in day, I couldn't do that until several hours later--while the movers were there. I'd specified I wanted a ground-floor or top-floor apartment, but wound up with a middle-floor, and it was too late to do anything. I discovered several issues on the rushed walk-through front burner knob not working, veneer coming off bathroom counter, no shelves in medicine cabinet, stain on the carpet, window latch broken, etc. I was promised these would be taken care of, but it took another call to get the stove and counter fixed, and I just gave up on the rest. The parking can be difficult at times, especially if we return home after 10 pm. The noise is unbelievable--I frequently hear loud music and yelling at all hours of the day and night and have been frequently woken from a deep sleep in the middle of the night or very early morning by people yelling outside (and sometimes inside). I got stuck in a building sort of at the back, and there is always trash everywhere. The downstairs neighbors frequently leave trash bags sitting outside for days--I've had to call twice about trash left sitting out for more than 3 days--and they hang out constantly during the warmer months, sitting on the steps, and leave their cigarettes, soda cans, chip bags, etc. The dumpster area is also frequently full especially over the weekend which looks lovely. And what's worse is that people just leave their trash outside the dumpster even if it's not full. They also apparently don't understand the phrase plastic and aluminum only. I've had a number of maintenance problems, which usually take more than one call and more than one visit. The garbage disposal still doesn't work, and the new dishwasher that took 3 months to get works--but the plumbing is so screwed up that it floods the kitchen if the neighbors upstairs run their water and I am gone for more than 2 days. The worst problem was when there was a leak from upstairs--despite numerous calls detailing the problem--about 2' x 3' of ceiling plaster was actually peeling off and falling on my counter--I finally got attention when I called the regional office. And yet, it was only about three-quarters fixed: some of the plaster fell off again, and there is a huge stain across the ceiling. And the roaches--astounding! I have never had a problem with roaches--lived in a condo for more than 5 years and *never* had pest control--but this place is infested. I'm guessing it has something to do with the disgusting downstairs neighbors, but regardless, it's disgusting. They show up in places where there is no food or trash whatsoever. I've treated it myself, twice, had pest control come, etc., and yet I still keep a can of Raid by the kitchen so I can spray when I turn on the lights--I always get a couple. There is quite a bit of crime in the area, though this seems to have lessened in recent months. I still don't feel safe outside at night. I can't use the tennis courts because there are kids doing soccer practice every day when I get home, and the lights are broken, so you can't use them at night. To sum up, maintenance, noise, and pests are all huge problems. Management is frequently lackadaisical. I can hardly use the pool or tennis courts. The area in general is not very safe. The only thing that is as I expected is the price. I will say it is nice to be able to pay the rent online. That's about it. I'm already researching other apartments, although I have 4 months left. I am not a snob, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I may have the worst neighbors in the complex, but management does nothing to alleviate that by making them at least follow the rules. You can find a better place saving 50 bucks a month is absolutely not worth it. Update: The tennis nets have now been completely removed--might want to not advertise those anymore. The noise *has* lessened considerably since a couple folks have moved out. Bugs are still a major issue despite getting treated--the whole building needs to be done all at the same time... that shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I'm moving out, so it's way too late to change my opinion, but it's going to take more than posting a mea culpa on a review site to fix any problems. By the way, figuring out who I am from an anonymous review and sending maintenance into my apartment without notifying me is NOT the way to change my opinion to a more favorable one. :/
