Resident 2017 - 2018

2/16/2018

I started my lease in September. They're not flexible with move in dates(even with a hurricane approaching.) I live in a 4 bedroom standard apartment. At first glance, it looked really nice, after living here for 5 months, I am starting to have depression, as the apartment is dark, and the common area has no windows. It's depressing, and dirty. The bathrooms don't have fans, leading to mold and wall damage because of water. The flooring is styled where dirt gets stuck in all of the cracks, making the floor hard to clean. The furniture is disgusting, when I moved in I found pizza crusts under the couch. The couch and chair in the common area have low backs so there is no support. The rooms are a lot smaller, then you would expect, forcing you to stay on your bed or in the common area. There is not enough storage in the kitchen for 4 people to store all of their food and cooking supplies. There are silverfish all the time, and it takes maintenance a long time to do anything regarding problems. It's claustrophobic and dark, my roommates and I have had anxiety in the past, and it returned when we started living here. The way they deal with issues is unprofessional, there is no notice when they come into your apartment, besides knocking. They do not try and find a common ground with you regarding any situation. I lived here because of the first impression and price, and you really are getting what you paid for. It is not worth it to live here, especially if you get stressed easily and have a heavy workload. It is not good for your mental space. The lobby, hallways, and elevators are constantly dirty, and the trash service that you pay over $100 for, rarely does their job. The wifi isn't constant, it can go out for hours to days at a time, which isn't productive with so many students living here. The apartment I live in does not have a tub, only a shower with a 2 inch lip from the floor, so water gets all over the floor when you bathe. The staff doesn't do much for you and fire alarms constantly, go off in the middle of the night, which is awful for someone who has to get up early for work or school. The fire alarms are also way too loud and sensitive, even a tiny bit of smoke from cooking will set them off. They don't have respect for there tenants, and won't work with you if something goes wrong. The place constantly smells like weed and pipes are leaking in the stair cases. I will not be coming back here, and if I could break my lease I would have done it in November.
