When I initially moved into the apartment it was quite and maintained well. The apartment is big for the price but does lack a balcony. As of about a month ago we are under new management. There have always been some issues but transition to the new property owners has been really rocky. For the past two months we have had issues paying rent. The first month they informed us that no one's rent would auto draft so we all had to pay with a money order. This was difficult because no one was billed so we didn't know how much to pay for rent. This month the rent drafted but for incorrect amounts. I called the office to inquire as to why and never received a call back. I had to eventually stop by the office for her to tell me that I need to go online and pay the remaining balance. The work out room was finally cleaned yesterday. It was not cleaned for at least 2 weeks with dirt build up and bugs everywhere. Not to mention there is no air conditioner so it is really warm. The community is not gated so the neighborhood children loudly stroll through at their leisure in packs as soon as the rental office closes. They also have the code, which the office never changes, to the work out room and come in frequently when the office staff leave. Having the code also allows access to the pool which is flooded with neighborhood children during the summer and is more like a community pool. At first I was ok with not having a gate but with the increase in foot traffic we have had some issues. In the past year or two there was an armed robbery, a non-resident was shot and killed in the parking lot, and this location was listed as the last known address for a murderer that shot 2 cops in New York. The apartments are big, spacious, and nice. However, the building is old. So throughout the year, every year I have issues with ants and silverfish. I like the apartment but after 3 years I am at the point where the cons are outweighing the pros so I am moving. If you are seriously considering moving in make sure that you do your do diligence and visit the property after the office closes. It is a whole new world with loud kids walking everywhere.
