The building is secure access, but leaving the building is another story. The DollarGeneral Express, Shelter Services, and The Food Pantry bring a large amount of homeless around the building. The police are called quite frequently due to homeless being drunk and approaching people for money.… See More

Angela and Carla have been superb throughout my stay here! I would stay longer if I wasn't moving out of State. So, someone else will have to take the mantle, but I assure you, this is the place to be in Downtown Des Moines.

The Equitable Building is a fantastic place to live. The amenities are first class and the staff are all excellent. The apartments are very well constructed and the number of tenants is small enough that you don't feel like you're living in a fishbowl.

Great location. Near restaurants, downtown night life. But, just far enough away where it is quiet. Staff is easy to work with. Quality of appliances and furnishings are great. I never hear my neighbors. Everywhere is kept so clean.

This is a beautiful building in a wonderful location with amazing staff! My only "drawback" is that Des Moines as a city pretty much rolls up its sidewalks at night, so don't expect to find much late night dining.
