Resident 2015

10/10/2015

I agree with most of the posters here. Their complaints are valid HOWEVER... I feel like there's no such thing as a free lunch and if it looks like a duck, etc. etc. No, Maple Grove Villas is not the Hamptons. The rent is crazy reduced for what I wanted anywhere else I would be paying double. I got exactly what I wanted. I really, really like it here! I have a private front and rear entry, I don't have upstairs or downstairs neighbors, we have two floors all to ourselves. MY master bedroom is the size of two typical apartment bedrooms, with a walk-in closet and an en suite bath. We can't here our neighbors in their house, EVER, even though it's a family with three kids - 1 of which a teenage girl and another a preschool boy, so..(outside's a different story, tho). My kids have a HUGE winding neighborhood with rolling green hills and clean sidewalks, and two playgrounds to play on and a well maintained pool and friends galore, they are rarely inside. I have a huge storage shed attached to my back patio, and enormous closets throughout the whole unit. I have a washer dryer hookup in my apartment. A/C, and all the usuals. There is a small planting area in front of my window. They have all sorts of fun community parties and contests all year. I seriously don't know why, with all that, people are so eager to shame MGV. Despite the fact that it added 40 minutes to my commute every day, I still chose to live here, because every other apartment home I have looked at anywhere near (add $300) our budget was CRAP! It's a managed affordable housing project, so honestly what were these people expecting? And I can guarantee you, even the regular every day non-affordable housing apartments were just as skimped on the details, and smaller and stacked on top of eachother, etc.etc. No, it's not perfect, but I've lived in other apartments, and I've listened to my friends complain about their apartments/landlords, and this place seems pretty middle of the road. I think that the outside and the amenities fool people into thinking that they are living in some kind of gated community, because it's gorgeous. But it turns out it's a pretty average apartment. Oh, darn. Anyway. I love it here. My kids love it here, and I absolutely adore ONE of the maintenance guys (the other one's kind of a jerk). The windows are leaky, the bugs are everywhere, AND THAT'S because this place was built in the middle of the COUNTRY, where bugs are always atrocious. And some people are lazy and can't seem to get their trash into the dumpster, but you'll have that when you are living in an apartment complex. LOVE IT HERE!
