The worst place I've ever lived!

These apartments are the ghettos of Boise, the worst place ever: 1. These apartments are hotel setup with long corridors, the front doors aren't soundproof, and you can hear into people's apartments or they hear into your apartment while in the hall. 2. The entire building is infested with bedbugs. Orkin is always at the building, but it doesn't help because the bedbugs are living in the walls. Also, this allows bedbugs to enter uninfested apartments though the electrical outlets. If your apartment is infested, YOU have to pay the electrical bill for Orkin to treat your apartment with heating equipment. 3. The alarms are constantly being pulled and when that happens, not only do the 2 or 3 alarms go off in your apartment, but also the numerous alarms go off on every floor and the decibel level is unbearable. 4. There is criminal vandalism that occurs on a regular basis. Be prepared to have your vehicle vandalized. The buildings' alarm systems have also been vandalized, causing floors to flood and major water abatement and restoration work to be done. Also be sure to leave your bicycle in your apartment because it will be vandalized or stolen if chained… See More>

      Can't find leak in plumbing.

They been looking for a leak in the plumbing for close to three years. Constantly cutting and drilling. Making the complex smell foul. Can even hear the workers talking in the crawl space below my bedroom. If I was young enough to move I would. This is a nasty place.

I currently live in this nasty dump. The place is like living in a cesspool. Hallway carpets so full of mold and dirt that they make the hallways stink of garbage and dirty feet. The place is also a huge firetrap. Dryer vents stuffed with lint that haven't been maintained in years. The vents run through the ceiling of the apartment to the outside. If one of them caught fire, it would be a disaster. Tried speaking with 2 office staff members and they blatantly lied to me by telling me the vents are cleaned on a regular basis. I've spoken with many residents who've lived here for several years and not a single person has had their dryer vents cleaned. I requested maintenance records proving their claim of maintaining the vents 2 weeks ago and they claim the records may be private and the need to get permission from corporate office. 2 weeks seems to be more than enough time for this simple request. So, if you want to live in a filthy firetrap with liars in charge, you will love Civic Plaza. I will update this site on a weekly basis with more pictures of the filth. The… See More>

This place has become a ------! People here are stupid, lazy slobs who don't know what a trash can is and leave their trash strewn about in the hallways, elevators and outside as well. Not to mention the lazy stupid people who leave their cigarette butts all over on the ground instead of walking their lazy --- a few feet away to use the outside ashtrays that are there for that purpose. Dog poop in hallway that owner was too lazy to pick up. Stupid parents who let their kids go around destroying flowers in the flower pots and they don't supervise their kids. Another good example is when a boy not more than 10-11 years old walking two big dogs, one of them being a pit bull, by himself with no adult supervision and the two dogs took after a neighbor's much smaller dog and attacked him! The kid could not keep hold of both dogs. His parents are stupid people who don't take responsibility for their child and I see a lot of that here! The noise too from upstairs idiot people who love to slam and bang around very loud late at night when I am trying… See More>

The reviews speak for themselves at civic plaza they are true and related to management they all conspire and lie what ever it takes to get you out of the office. Maintenance is pretty good and issues are resolved fast but anything that relates to management on a 1 to 5 I give it 0 to 1 they have zero to none people skills its what do you need to hear to get you out of our face and the office there is absolutely no communication between tenants and management. most recently they have stoped answering there phone you must leave a message with no call back this started when they promoted Miss no personalty from asstant manager to manager. it is expected to only get worst as time go's on. i believe they like refugees because they can't comunate or even know they can complain and have never lived in and apartment and live like all they know from the country they come from no disrespect they get no formal training from management so long as they get that rent check all is good. Management presents the apartment complexes as good, but here's the truth: 1. Hotel setup, the front doors aren't soundproof, and you can hear into neighbor's apartments while in the hallway so no real privacy. 2. The entire building is infested with bedbugs, they are living in the walls. Also, this allows bedbugs to enter uninfested apartments though the electrical outlets. You will have to pay the electric bill is bedbug abatement is done in your apartment. 3. The alarms are constantly being pulled by vandals to the point of breaking the alarm system. 4. The buildings' alarm systems have been vandalized, causing floors to flood and major water abatement and restoration work. You will pay for the power for fans to dry out your apartment if this happens. 5. This location is near the greenbelt, which is overrun with homeless, transient, and drug-addicted people that come into Civic apartments. 6. There are no assigned parking spaces for tenants, Ada County Courthouse employees park in the same garage, and BSU uses the garage when there are games! 7. Many people that live here have significant mental health or drug issues and these buildings are government subsidized for low-income people. I had a… See More>

DO NOT EVER RENT HERE!!!! The apartment staff are some of the rudest people I've ever encountered. They treat their residents, myself included, of minority and poverty status with blatant disregard. I truly feel that these people feed off of treating us like complete garbage. The place is absolutely disgusting. Despite numerous complaints, the entire complex is in constant filth. The whole place is infested with bedbugs, and the carpets are covered in stains. The entire building smells terrible and no amount of air freshener could ever relieve my nose from the smell. The elevators are always broken and the fire alarms go off almost daily. Not to mention homeless people are constantly sleeping in the hallways and stairwells. They claim they have onsite security, but Ive never seem one security officer the entire six months I've lived there. Civic Plaza advertises their amenities and facilities inaccurately. This place is not safe for anyone to live, especially children. Safe yourself a lot of grief and find somewhere else to live!

I've lived at civic plaza for a little over a year now and it has been an incredible experience. The office staff is friendly and very easy to work with. They are quick and great with their communication. The only reason I'm moving is because I'm leaving the state for business or else I would happily stay there. The rooms are quiet and the amenities are fantastic. The location is also unbeatable. You will not find anything better for the cost.

The staff at Civic Plaza are amazing. Sweet people who put up with so much from so many awful renters. It's not often you will find such patient and friendly people considering what they put up with on a daily basis. The building is not perfect but the location is wonderful and the grounds well kept (shame about some of the tenants who abuse it and are disrespectful to our home - shame on them) It's pet friendly, affordable, great location, staff that always have a smile and time for a chat. The only problem at Civic Plaza are some of the crazy tenants and unfortunately those aren't going away. The staff more than makes up for those who don't deserve to be here.

The problem with living there is the drug dealing that's going on. There are constantly homeless addicts in an out. All coming an going from the 5th floor. An yes the police are aware of the situation. The sad thing is that there are a lot of nice decent people, some with small children living there. Add that to the fire alarm issue, the parking, an elevator it sucks! Oh an don't go in the stairwells the homeless puke an piss everywhere. An don't leave anything unlocked, it will be stolen! If they could get rid of the criminal activity it would be a great place to live?

I applied for this apartment and had to fill out about 5 forms the first day to get things rolling. Cecelia was very helpful and doesn't seem to be the problem at all. The problem is that if you fit their requirements to live there, but are also doing more with your life than collecting social security, there are way too many forms to fill out and the process for me became bogged down by financial aid forms that BSU needs to fill out but cannot because they are still waiting on pending FAFSA info. In the end over a month went by and we still had not been accepted into the apartment. You know that's not too big of a deal to me. I get it. It's government bureaucratic bull. Meanwhile I'm cruising craigslist everyday for something else (after about 3 weeks with no affirmative) and I found a good fit. I contacted them on Wednesday and moved in Saturday. I asked to withdraw my application and refund my $100 holding fee (I know they sold my spot to someone else; I saw them posting on craigslist about 2 weeks… See More>

Started off promising, it didn't turn out. We didn't even get to move in here thank goodness. There is one nice lady in the office. There are too many levels of authority and nothing gets done. They screwed up our application after they told us we could move in and to start the electric. And when we went back to get some of our paperwork (work stubs) they misplaced our file! There are stains in the hallway. It's like a motel style living. When people visit you there isn't any parking except in the parking garage and it's $2.50 an hour. They really gave us the run around. And when management goes on vacation don't expect anything to get done. They also said they have had bed bugs before and that last year the fire alarms kept going off/set off. The one office lady is very sweet and honest.

As a tenant living in these supposed luxury apartments, this place is awful!! I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. They have an emergency maintenance number to which NO one replies. The office staff is completely rude. They say they have security for the apartments, funny because I've never seen any of them. The vents that allow air to flow through the walk ways are taped closed!! The ads online for this place are a complete lies!! Please look somewhere else to live..

I do not recommend these apartments. I have read several recent reviews on civic plaza, and sadly I must agree with most of them. I have been a resident of civic plaza for the past 14 months. and this is an honest review of the property. 1.The location can't be beat! 2.All utilities are covered except for electricity, television service, telephone, and Internet. 3.The apartment layout and square footage are above average for the price range. 4. Free parking. 5. The leasing office staff is generally helpful, and seem to care..with one very notable exception! . I will call her "BLUE". this particular agent has no business being in customer service or the hospitality industry at all. She's consistently rude, abrasive, and condescending. 6. The building is a disaster. It is obviously suffering from years of neglect, poor maintenance practices, and and poor property management. 7. The carpet in the common areas and hallways are grotesque. Rotting away in certain areas, and staind … See More>

This place is AWFUL. My boyfriend and I moved in just a few months ago, and we already hate it. The apartments are stuffy because none of the windows open. I get headaches regularly because I have no access to fresh air from the apartment. The hallways are dingy and stuffy because there are no air conditioners. We were told that the power bill hardly ever exceeds $30 but now we are getting bills over double that because we have to run the air conditioner non-stop in order to keep the apartment semi-cool. There is no vent in the bathroom, so taking a shower heats up the apartment instantly. The other residents are classless. Most of them spend most of their days smoking right outside the building (even though there are signs prohibiting this). Then there the few that get drunk in the parking garage and sit on other peoples cars and end up throwing up all over the garage. But nobody ever cleans it up so there are now dry puke stains on the ground. The place always feels so dirty. Just yesterday I got into the elevator (which seems to break down almost every week), and there were… See More>

If you currently live in a high-poverty census tract, there are benefits to moving to an area that does not have a high-poverty concentration. Some advantages include: 1. Increased safety in lower-crime neighborhoods; 2. Relocation from drug-trafficking areas; 3. Improved schools for children; 4. Proximity to jobs or job opportunities; 5. Better quality housing; and 6. More responsive owners Moving to Civic Plaza Apartments was the biggest mistake of my life

I am a registered nurse case manager. Over the years I have interacted with a number of tenants living at Civic Plaza. While onsite I have also had the opportunity to meet with the office personnel whom Iâ??ve found to be very courteous, helpful, well-informed, and overall very professional. Knowing the limitations some of the tenants deal with as a result of their disabilities I have always felt they live independently only because of their housing situation. Many are unemployed, receiving public assistance and would be homeless if not for the fact that Civic Plaza accepts housing vouchers. Fortunately they have a centrally-located, well-kept complex in which to live. It is very unfortunate that some of the tenants, or past tenants or even possibly people who never resided at Civic Plaza have used this platform to post rude comments with the obvious intention to inflict personal harm. The website administrator should not allow such posts.

Staff and Maintenance is great, the apartments are close to town and the highway. There are multiple stores nearby to go shopping and the university is nearby. One of Boise's great parks is within walking distance, Julia Davis Park. The only down side to the Civic is some of the other renters who are rude. Overall a great place.

The leasing agent in charge of the Civic Plaza apartments is a convicted felon on parole until January 2015. If we mention her name ( which is legal because it is public information ) Homestead Management will remove it from this site. Look this information up for yourself on the Idaho Repository site online. She has lost many of her rights as a felon, like the right to vote, the right to be an a jury, and the right to own a firearm. Felons are regarded by the federal government, and most US states, as being "prohibited persons" under US law (18 U.S.C. Ã?§ 922(g). We do not understand why Homestead Management would let her control the Plaza apt's if they know she is a felon still on parole. We understand giving people breaks in life, but she is in-charge of money and legal matters. We wonder why Homestead would put a felon who breaks the laws, in charge of enforcing laws under landlord/tenant.You have a right to know who is in charge of your apt. complex and their background, just as they yours. Do NOT move here if you are a normal person. It sounds like a good idea because it is low income and if you don't make much that would seem ideal, but it's honestly the same price as many other apartments in boise. I moved here with my fiancé about a month ago and I absolutely hate it!!! The residents are so trashy and all they do is smoke all day and make you feel uncomfortable when you need to go outside. The property manager refused to let us look at our unit before moving in and it's probably because it looked NOTHING like the model, she didn't tell us there was little to no lighting, or that there was no ventilation, the only ac is two very large wall units. It gets so hot that I feel like I feel like I'm going to pass out. The fire alarms go off constantly, I am currently sitting in the winco parking lot writing this review at 5 am because someone keeps pulling the fire alarm! I will definitely not be renewing my lease and hope that no one else has to go through this torture.

These apartments are for low income families and individuals. They are subsidized by the U.S. Government. It is called Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit. Unfortunately this place sucks really bad, because it is full of fraudulent and depressing losers. The apartments have no patios and are subject to inspections multiple times a year. The business center consists of two very old desktop PCs that cannot handle multitasking and one very old printer. The buildings themselves are poorly constructed and there is no ventilation in the kitchens and no fans in the bathrooms. One of the two buildings has abnormally low ceilings. Monday thru Friday there are employees from all the businesses connected to the apartments walking around like they own the place. Over forty of the apartments have windows that do not open at all! There is no air-conditioning in the hallways and it gets uncomfortably hot at night in the summer.
