We have only lived here about 3 months so far but we really like it. It isn't luxury living but the maintenance guy responds quickly and effectively (and we have asked for a LOT and gotten the job done without hesitation). It is quiet and it has nice grounds with grassy areas. It is close to downtown - we ride our bikes everywhere - and it is close to the military reserve park for some short hikes. The apartments are clean, quiet, and a good value. I feel safe and I like the staff (who pretty much keep to themselves unless you need them). I like that it is set in a nice surrounding neighborhood.
Everything is about a 3 - adequate and acceptable. The location is a 5 and so what you pay for a comfortable, clean, spacious nice apartment close to downtown is a great value. I didn't need vaulted ceiling and I am ok with a window unit a/c. The fitness center is a joke but they have a treadmill and a couple of other machines. There is a TV in there but it doesn't work so who wants to work out in a small room with no tv? I don't care because we are so close to the greenbelt and trails that I go outside anyway. The pool area is small but nice.
I was worried because previous posts say that bugs get in or there are mice. We have had some bugs get in but we asked for our door to be restripped and that stopped. We also were told to get some sticky pads for the balcony and it worked. You may have some problems but the staff are quick to help fix it and it did fix it. Plus, the bugs were minimal to start with. We have not had any mice at all.
I also like the older buildings because they tend to have thicker walls or something and not as much noise gets through. I haven't heard our neighbors once.
