Resident 2015 - 2016

10/7/2016

In all honesty, the owners of this establishment should be brought up on charges. I personally cannot speak for all of the apartments on site, but I can speak for my own: not fit for occupancy by human beings. Full of mold. Most of my family has been suffering from respiratory illness, allergies, and sinus infections since we moved here over a year ago. Within a few months of moving in the a/c malfunctioned and flooded the upstairs master bedroom. We reported it, and the issue was not fixed for several weeks...this happened in the middle of summer. We have a toddler. We need a/c. The a/c was finally replaced... with a new a/c That when operated, smelled like someone had urinated inside of it for several months prior to its insulation. Shortly after this, the trim in the upstairs bathroom began peeling away from the wall, and water began seeping into the walls and under the sub floor. Mold began accumulating in the upstairs bathroom, and cabinets in the kitchen downstairs, from the water soaking into the walls. The electrical outlets began malfunctioning due to the moisture. Almost 18 months later... the property managers finally sent someone out to provide half of a solution by applying a plastic shower cover over the water saturated shower tile that had begun falling off. The bathroom base boards were never repaired or sealed, nor was the vinyl removed and the sun floor dried and repaired...therefore the mold was not eliminated. On top of everything... a resident of the apartments had a teenage son that let all of the air out of all of the tires on my vehicle. That vehicle was listed on my lease. That vehicle was towed at the discretion of the property managers. I was granted no mercy. I paid 300 dollars to retrieve my vehicle from the tow company. I begged the property managers to have mercy...none was given. In closing, tonight, I parked my car behind my house for a brief moment... I went back to move my car, and the maintenance guy was attempting to put a boot on my vehicle. Without warning. No courtesy. No respect. No knock on the door. He simply said..."I'll let it go this time". When I moved into this apartment, I chose it out of desperation due to a lack of better options, and due to the fact that I am poor and this establishment only requires a 250 dollar deposit for me to move in. THEY PREY ON THE POOR, AND BANK ON THE FACT THAT IT IS EASIER TO MANIPULATE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE POOR. I WILL BE MOVING OUT OF THIS SLUM AS SOON AS I CAN AFFORD TO! And I pray that those who read this, take warning and DO NOT MOVE ON TO THIS PLACE! if you are desperate, stay in a shelter. Stay with family. Take advantage of any other resource that you possibly can! If you want to hold scandalous business owners accountable for illegal businesses practices...stop paying them money. If they don't have money...they cannot continue to take advantage of people who have to settle for less than what they deserve, for lack of better options.
