As others have pointed these are old apartments. When I first arrived I wasn't stoked with what I walked in to but after some interior decorating I'm actually really happy with what we've got. So the rooms aren't great, but the pool/hot tub, grill and courtyard are really nice. The lounge is a bit lacking compared to others, however. Lastly, the people of the wards here are very nice, and provide a lot more involvement then I've had with wards elsewhere. This place has ups and downs that are unique to it, so it won't be for everyone but at least check it out if you're looking. Just make sure you see a real apartment being lived in at the time of your tour.
