I feel sad for those people who have had a bad experience. My husband and I lived here from 2006 to 2009 and have recently moved back to Rexburg for a year. We chose to come back to The Village because we loved it and have NEVER had any complaints about living here. The staff is very kind and helpful. Lisa even remembered our children's names from 3 years ago! When we moved out the first time we followed the cleaning list and actually tried to do a decent job and Lisa was happy. Personally, we don't have a dog but I am grateful that The Village has gone to the extent they have with the dog poo. They have provided nice areas for the dogs complete with a faux fire hydrant, a shovel, and bags. It's unfortunate that they had to take it farther than that but again I am thankful that they are making efforts to keep The Village clean. Furthermore, The Village has nothing against dogs. At Halloween, I checked the newsletter in my email (which I appreciate) to see if there would be a costume parade for the kids- there wasn't (which was fine) but there was a pet costume parade. How cute and fun for all those pet owners!? They also have a community garden- I have never seen another apartment community with a garden. AND they have had a free pancake breakfast on several occasions. This goes to show that Lisa and her staff try to provide fun activities for those that live here. When we move out in a few months I doubt we will move to a place that we love as much as we have loved living here. Please don't listen to the negative reviews- unless you also like to complain... then maybe consider living somewhere else. :)
