The positives: the management (Schilling) is generally friendly and reasonably responsive. Everything gets fixed eventually, and important things get fixed reasonably quickly. (Minor things sometimes take more than one request though).

Also, I liked the neighborhood- its the only apartment in a block of single family homes and it is right behind one of Carbonale's nicer grocery stores (Schnuck's).

Despite the fact that everyone but me was a student, the building was very quiet.

The big negative: heating and cooling. You have your own a/c but it doesn't seem to have a lot of BTUs- I was pretty hot in the summer.

Cooling was controlled from another apartment, which means that the winter was miserable.

By big-city standards this is a pretty miserable place to live. But in Carbondale you could do much worse.
