Not Worth It.
I used this as Grad housing because it was pet friendly and they say one of the amenities is that we are all grads with or without families, staff, and faculty only. With a pool and a common area. First of all, $650/mo with at least a $30-40 pet fee makes this more expensive than finding a pet-friendly place in the same area for school. To insure the apt is not worth the money as they are all full of code violations: the stairs are not up to code, there is no fire proofing between units, there is no sound barrier between units, constant vermin (mice, rats, and bugs) despite the so-called pest control, and the outdated appliances (like a water heater from the 1960s) makes them a death trap waiting to happen. The "new" windows are not caulked properly, so you have to buy film (sometimes the school provides it) to keep your place heated. The water heaters are so old that you spent at least $90 on gas per month to heat up enough water for a 5 minutes shower. When I moved in, the carpet was filthy and it's so cheap that you can't really ever get it clean. You can hear your neighbors going to the bathroom. And the "newer" updated ones have less space and are still done with shoddy materials. The only thing going for it is the free cable and Central Air. The pool has been closed for years and there is no dog area for the dogs to mingle. The common room area is a joke as either maintenance is using it or the community aides are having a meeting. Their idea of appreciation is having a BBQ at times when most of the residents are still in classes. Maintenance is a joke as they will take months to fix a non-working light for safety but they will hem and haw if your toilet is constantly running. My unit was supposed to be about 600 sq ft and it's closer to about 500 (and this is a 2nd unit apt). The community aides are worthless-some are trying to convert you or others and some say they are there for you, but are never around. Oh, and i should mention that for grad housing, they are letting in a lot of undergrads who like to party and not be quiet. They always say they are almost full, but I never see it. The bus system is unreliable and a hassle to try and catch to and from campus. If your desperate like I was, then this is what you get.Share This Review
