Gentry Square Apartments
Resident · 2014 - 2016
My wife and I have lived in a number of apartment communities as we've moved around for school, and this is the best we've been in to date. The neighbors were all great, and honestly we hardly would have known they were there if not for seeing them out and about - excellent noise reduction between units! As some others have noted, the buildings themselves are not the most up to date, though we always saw units being renovated with new cabinets, fixtures, etc. while we lived there. We had relatively new appliances in our townhome, and never had any issues with them. Our unit did not yet have the new renovations, so the cabinets and drawers weren't the greatest, with a number of the drawers continually falling out of their tracks and such. We were given the option of a renovated unit at move-in, but could not afford one). I should note that anytime we did have a maintenance issue, no matter how small, the maintenance staff was always very prompt in addressing it. One of the maintenance guys, Bob, has worked in this community for many years. He has to be one of the nicest guys we've had the pleasure of knowing, and was always eager to resolve any issues that came up. The office staff was equally as kind and helpful, and we never felt like we were inconveniencing them with any questions or concerns we had. This community was also the only one we've lived in that actually tried very hard to make it a true "community". Events were regularly held in the clubhouse for the residents (i.e., Chili night, Halloween parties, etc.). The only reason we moved was that we needed something a bit cheaper, and wanted a place with a fenced in private yard for our dogs. Gentry Square installed a dog run recently, but our dogs were never great with others so this didn't quite work out for us. All in all, I'd say this is definitely a great place to live!
