It's one of the nicer studios available
The management here is really nice, as long as you speak to the right person. The desk attandants are friendly also as long as you get to know them. The building is well kept up, and there is a dedicated freight elevator, but parking in the alley to unload is a pain because of other cars blocking the area. The passenger elevators are fast. Package delivery and mail is good. Price is on the high side, but you do get cable and basic 1.5/286 (slow dsl) internet via ethernet jack. I think I'm going to have to get Comcast HSI though, because it's really slow for anything more than basic browsing. The apartments pretty much all have dishwashers now I think, and ceiling fans. A/C unit is included, but you pay own electricity. Appliances are fairly new from what I can tell. Since A/C is in the kitchen area of studios, it can be hard to cool off the bedroom and closet/bath areas. Walls and floors must be reallllyyy thin concrete if they are, because noise is really bothering me. Since the floors are parquet (wood) if the upstairs neighbor moves anything or walks heavily, it sounds like a subwoofer is vibrating the ceiling. There is a bike room, exercise room, and laundry room downstairs. If I could get an apt on the top floor, I'm sure it would be much better in terms of noise, but the rent would be pretty $. You get what you pay for basically. Especially in the downtown studio market. If you don't want to face a brick wall in your studio(which 70% of them do being lower class units) 1100 N Dearborn is a good choice because all units can get some sun from what I can tell.Share This Review
