First off, if you have a dog, DO NOT live here. They say it's a pet friendly building, but there is a lady that lives here that finds dogs disgusting, and she might attack you. Why does this lady who hates dogs live in a dog friendly building? I don't know; probably by the same logic that she thinks it's okay to attack people in the elevator. She attacked my girlfriend while she was holding her corgi puppy in the elevator; all because she thought the dog was licking the elevator buttons?? We filed a formal complaint with the condominium association, and a police report. It would not surprise me if she's attacked others before, as I've been there when she's screamed obscenities at my girlfriend and chased her to her unit. Don't worry, by the time you read this and/or move in, she'll probably still be there. The building attorney was contacted and they said they won't be doing anything about this situation. If you have a dog, or want to live in a place that actually cares about the safety of their residents, I'd check elsewhere. The apartments themselves are decently nice. There's a lot of space, hardwood floors, and the building has an incredible rooftop. The laundry situation is bad. The machines are outdated, and the dryers will sometimes take multiple runs to dry your clothes (and may leave them smelling a little funky). The staff are generally helpful. One annoying thing is that you'll end up having to come downstairs to let your friends up if you don't have a Chicago area code phone number. There's a box to call up, but it only works if you have a specific area code. The desk staff do not call up like at other apartments, probably because that call box exists. This is probably the most annoying thing about the security situation, aside from the fact that they don't have cameras in the elevators to catch people who attack you for holding a dog that literally isn't doing anything. A special shout-out to Cory who works at the front desk. He's super friendly and helpful. If there were a reason to move back, he'd be it.
