Wish I wasn't moving!
This building is in a great part of Chicago and has many features that make it ideal. It can get a little noisy outside with the nightlife on Rush St, but I rarely could hear any noise inside the building from my neighbors. The sunā¦Ā See More >RGCollins

Forty-East Oak is in an excellent location - one block from Michigan Avenue! It is in the midst of many excellent restaurants, shops, and nightlife spots. Lake Michigan is one block away and I have lake views from my particular apartment. The restaurantsā¦Ā See More >SPBEAM

Gold Coast Living and Awesome Shopping! :)
I've lived in this building for several years now. It's in the best part of the city, and close to everything - fabulous restaurants, superior shopping, excellent transportation options (El, bus, taxis) abound. If you love a neighborhood you could walk everywhere - this isā¦Ā See More >erinross26

Love this place!
I couldn't find a better place for the price, location, and quality. There are so many great stores and restaurants just around the block. The apartment is cozy, comfortable, and quiet! And I really appreciate the people that work here. I never had a problemā¦Ā See More >anonymous

DO NOT TRUST THE MANAGER!!!!
I never do reviews like this but I feel so strongly about this place. I'd give this place less than one star if I could. For starters, I have perfect credit, I'm an ideal renter, not a smoker, no cats, very clean etc. I've neverā¦Ā See More >anonymous

Great location, but very vintage
You can't beat the location/price of this apartment building. However, beware of the word "Vintage" Apartments. The apartments are very old, but somewhat well maintained. If you are looking for new carpet, forget it! I was told the carpet in my apartment should have beenā¦Ā See More >anonymous

The Good and the Bad
I have lived in the building a while. I think people are underestimating its value. Perhaps they are from out of town and this is their first apartment building in downtown Chicago. Anyway, I have lived here for years and have helped several people findā¦Ā See More >HLSTN77

Great deal, amazing neighborhood
First, the positives: My apartment is a great size for a "junior" one bedroom. It's got crown molding throughout, clean new carpet, built-in shelving and drawers, three closets (two of which are walk-ins), high-speed internet and cable included, a strong heating system, virtually soundproof walls,ā¦Ā See More >anonymous
