This message board is full of bitter tenants that want everything handed to them on a silver platter, and take no accountability. Here's a news flash to tenants: Save your money instead of pissing it away on crap and become a home owner. Maybe then, you will see why rules are necessary. 1) If you want to know why construction noise has been higher than normal, its because the home owners are renovating portions of the building to fix some issues and increase our property values while you pay the rent. 2) Plus, the elevators have gotten much better since January 2008 when the Board contracted with a new maintenance company. And, the elevators are going to be all brand new in 2008. 3) The hours to the pooldeck have been extended to 10pm, which is more than reasonable. If you really need more time outside in the evening, head over to the south side...105th & State, those folks will be happy to hang out with you. 4) If you need to know why you must post $500 to move in or out, its because irresponsible tenants like you keep damaging the building while moving your garage sale possessions in and out. 5) Also, you can't have alcohol on the pooldeck because of liability and lawsuits. Too many of you bad drunks have previously ruined it for those of us that are responsible. This is why you cannot drink a beer while grilling a burger. Yes it sucks, but so do tenants. 6) Dogs are welcome, as long as you keep Fido under reasonable control. Yes dogs bark and that is natural, but why should your neighbor have to listen to it? Maybe you the dog owner should be forced to listen to a couple having sex while your entire family is visiting for the holidays? Same difference, right? 7) The laundry room is no different than any other laundry room in the city. Plus, the room is owned/operated by the shady developer that converted this building to condo's. So you cannot blame the property manager, the maintenance guys or the condo board because they have no control over this laundry room. Sad, but true. 8) Water pressure is not an issue any more. All taken care of. 9) Having a max of 5 guests on the pooldeck is common courtesy to your fellow residents. The deck is not for you and 10-20 of your "pals" to "chill". If you don't like it, go buy yourself a house with a yard and a pool and you can do whatever you want with as many people as you want. Rules are meant to keep order, civility and to be followed....get used to it, or get out.
