Check out Lakestreetlookout on Youtube before deciding about this place
This was my first place my wife and I moved to in Chicago. The apartments are okay, the loft feel is nice, but you will hear your upstairs neighbors. There are no amenities in the building except for a rooftop deck and grill which is nice. The downside is that the building is located near Reserve and Chromium/Shadow nightclubs and IT IS LOCATED RIGHT NEXT TO THE L TRAIN! Do yourself a favor and check out the postings from Lakestreetlookout on YouTube and decide for yourself. While the restaurants and bars on Randolph are nice, there are a lot of street fights and even some shootings resulting in homicides due to these clubs. I moved out of there last summer and just stumbled upon these postings today which prompted me to write this review. Had I seen these videos before I moved, I would not have moved into this building. Also, the building manager, Mark, is a weird guy. He will do nice things for the building residents, like a $15 gift card during the holidays and a complimentary bottle of white zinfendal when you move in. He will also creep out any female in the building, is a stickler for ridiculous rules and is not available should there be an emergency after hours. Also, any of the reviews on here that sound too good to be true are because he writes them! I read one where it said the location was great because you could walk to the butcher for a Christmas ham? Who the hell would write that? I think he spends at least 40% of his day reading and writing reviews on these sites.6/20/2008
