Pros:
LOCATION...LOCATION...LOCATION...If you work/study @ UIC, this place is good.
CONS:
. Heating in winter is either inadequate or broken. Airconditioning in summer usually works.
. Roaches are a hit & miss- some apts have them and some don't. And if you do have htem, they're like relatives you don't like and canNOT get rid of.
. I loved the big window in the living room and was sorry that my bedroom had only a small one- unlike others. But now I realize I'm lucky- the windows bleed air. So you get cold air in the winter and hot air during the summer.
. The staff are pleasant and polite- and will get things done, on repeated gentle coaxing! They will say a lot and do ZIP! I've been told the manager will get things done, but I have not been able to get in touch with her.
. Rental insurance is a must- if anything gets stolen, you get a sympathetic nod from the staff and are then told to contact your insurance co.
. Some Washers/dryers are always not working.
. A treadmill in the gym has been broken since Oct '06!
. The elevators have had problems but are working now. But try to stay at a lower level in case you do have to use the stairs.
