College Square Apartments
Resident · 2003 - 2005
My memories of College Square are bitter-sweet, but only in retrospect. The walls are thin, the neighbors are depressed (this is understandable, though) and maitenance is slow and pathetic. The hallways resemble a bad 70s horror film. The "friendly reminders" that management drops off are covered in bad clip art. Oh yeah, and the apartments themselves basically suck.
I'm not sure if my fondest memory is having the faucet in my bathtub continually flowing for 6 months (it took them an incredible 5 attempts to fix it!) or having the screens on my windows cut off so maitenance could break into my apartment after discovering they didn't actually have a duplicate key to my apartment when I lost mine. Five months on the ground-level without screens sure showed me to lose my keys! Especially when all of those leaves from the front lawn blew into my living room!
Anyhow, long story short the place was missing cupboard doors when I moved in, had water stains on the ceilings of the bathroom and of the hallway, and came pre-infested with ants. When I moved out they asked me for a contact phone number and address to get ahold of me and I...never heard from them ever again. I guess that means I didn't get my security deposit back?
But to be fair, I think management hated the building as much as I did.
