I hated Evanston...but I LOVED the Park Evanston. The walls are a bit thin, but for the most part, it's run almost like a 5 star hotel: the management and staff are friendly, always attentive to your needs (they'll even come in on weekends to fix a problem!), and the doormen just know how to put a smile on your face! The units are clean, even if not luxurious, but the superb floor-to-ceiling windows add a real oomph factor. Our unit was on the 20th floor, facing south so we were particularly fortunate to get superb views of downtown Evanston, the lake, and yes, even Chicago on overcast days. (Fireworks on New Year's and the 4th of July are spectacular as you can see a stream of them from east to west!)Building amenities are nothing to sneeze at either. There's a pool, exercise room, entertainment room, conference room and business room with computers, printers, and a fax machine. There's a fully equipped guest suite too. And, of course, the location of the Park is extremely convenient: within walking distance of the public library, Northwestern, a range of restaurants and Whole Foods right next door. If I ever have to live in the Chicago area again, I would definitely pick The Park Evanston all over again.
