Ahhh, this building could not be in a better location. It's conveniently located between downtown Oak Park and downtown Forest Park, with easy access to the Metra, green line and blue line. Unfortunately, issues with roaches, mold and an offensive smelling lobby make this building uninhabitable. To top it off, if you call to complain about these things, the owner makes you feel as though you are bothering him. He is initially a kind man, but once you sign the lease, be prepared for poor management and short tempers. A sad reality of this place is that some tenants have been here for so long and seem to have no other place to go that they are unphased by the roach infestation. If you decide to still consider this building to live, check out the brown gel throughout the kitchen cabinets and bathroom walls. This is the poison repeatedly put down for the roaches but isn't working. The owner does not live at this property, so he doesn't care about these travelling germs and does nothing to hide hiss annoyance when you call about them. An owner that doesn't care about his tenants should not be managing a building. The upkeep of the building is also poor. It often smells like garbage upon entering the lobby and the carpets are streaked and dirty throughout the building. With the location, this property should be a wonderful find. Until management starts upkeep and bombs the building for roaches, this building should be closed down.
