SatisFacts, a sister company to ApartmentRatings, offers surveys that measure renters satisfaction at key points throughout the renter lifecycle: Touring, Move-In, Maintenance, and Lease Renewal. I hope that when people read these reviews, they take into consideration that there are two sides to every story. Often times, individuals only write reviews when they're upset...not when they have had a pleasant experience or when everything is going well. We have come to find, since recently purchasing the property, that those writing reviews were often times behind on their monthly rent and other serious issues. We have implemented assigned parking spots for all units. Since we have done this new assigned parking, we have not seen any issues in regards to parking. We have also contracted out a private towing company that monitors our parking lot on a daily basis. We have been commended by the Mayor of Glen Ellyn and the Glen Ellyn Police Department in regards to how much we have invested and improved this property. There are no prostitutes that go door to door, now are there suspicious characters.
Good Afternoon! To those reading, please note, the individual that wrote this review stated that Parkside Apartments is not a bad place to live. Yet, it shows up as the apartment community is not recommended. At this time, parking is very tight for us which is why visitor parking is not offered. Our main priority is to ensure those that reside at Parkside have a place to park when they come home. I often tell those to weigh how often you have visitors vs. how often you don't to determine if this is really an issue. There is plenty of parking at near by establishments where guests can park. The office is being moved back to Parkside Apartments starting September 1st.
Thank you for your review and you're correct! We're way under market rent for the area. Glen Ellyn is an amazing suburb and two blocks from the property you have million dollar homes. Since this review was posted, we have updated our laundry facilities. We have also served the proper notices to tenants that were unable to respect the property and keep up the cleanliness standards imposed by management. Our laundry facilities are now secured access, which means you need a special code to enter into the storage/laundry area.

We are sorry to hear that your experience here at Parkside was not pleasant. Unfortunately, it's hard to believe this review as we have never had a "Bradlee Rae" residing within our complex. . However, as management, I'd still like to clarify a few things in your post. The apartments are renovated, so that is correct! They are beautifully renovated and materials are by far cheap. We have provided each unit with granite counter tops AND stainless steel appliances, Moen Fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms along with custom mosaic tile work in the shower. I'd encourage anyone interested in renting an apartment in Glen Ellyn to find another complex with upscale materials (such as we provide) at a low affordable monthly rate. Our contractors that have completed our renovations have been in the business for over 20yrs. Each apartment has passed a final village inspection and another secondary inspection by an extermination company. Any tenant that rents with us will be provided with both of these inspections. There is visitor parking available at our location. Visitors can register their guest with the office between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Management will be happy to give your guest a temporary parking spot for a designated time period. Parkside Apartments does not accept "shady people" we process all applicants fairly and follow equal housing laws (Federal and Illinois). The comment to suggest "shady" people live here seems to be racist in nature and management does not tolerate such claims or behavior. Everyone is provided the same opportunity to rent out one of our affordable luxury apartments pending their criminal and credit background checks. Actually, the apartments are UNDER current market rent, especially when you take into the consideration the amount of upgrades we have put into each unit and the location of the complex. I'd encourage all individuals to compare local complexes and they will find this to be true.
Please note - this individual has reviewed the complex twice. The materials we use inside of our units are not cheap. We use top quality granite for our counters, custom mosaic tiles in the bathrooms and all Moen brand faucets and finishes. Our hardwood flooring is scratch resistant as well. Our units are fully treated for all pests and insects and each tenant will be provided an inspection sheet prior to moving in that shows their unit has passed. Last year, we invested over $30,000 in landscaping and the community will only continue to improve. All laundry facilities have been renovated and have key-pad secured entry doors, motion sensor LED lighting and full storage units.

I as management am deeply sorry that you have experienced these things while residing at Parkside. We take these issues very seriously and do everything in our power to remedy any concerns and issues that may arise during an individuals lease. We have now implimented assigned parking spots for all units! We have spent a significant amount of money on landscaping and this upcoming Spring/Summer we will continue to do a lot more with the grounds. We only purchased the property less than two years ago and we spent a majority of our focus on the interiors of the units. Now that we are nearing the completion of all of our unit renovations, we can begin to focus our attention elsewhere such as the grounds, exterior building face lift, etc. We pride ourselves on our customer service and assure any current and future tenant that we will respond accordingly to all issues that arise. Due to the previous ownership and the neglect the property had experienced, we have worked extremely hard to bring the property up to the level of being a luxury affordable living community.
Our management office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm and by appointment on the weekends. We can always be reached by phone at 630-770-1475 for any concerns. If there are any noise complaints, they need to be reported to management. Often times, individuals do not inform management of these concerns, but instead write a review about the property without giving management the opportunity to remedy the issue. if a concern is brought to management, we serve the proper notices to the tenants in violation of our noise policy outlined in our lease. It is our goal to ensure all tenants feel safe and comfortable at our complex. Also, we do not discriminate in terms of our tenants and we are an equal housing community. I, as management, find it offensive that the individual that wrote this review would have to bring a specific race into their concerns. We as management do not tolerate such behavior.
Good Evening, I'd like to point out that this review was written in March of 2014. Since March, we have updated ALL balconies and stairways and they are absolutely beautiful! Please see photos on our account or on Facebook. The parking lot is now assigned parking and every tenant is guaranteed a spot. Carl is no longer the manager of our property and we have excellent management in place that responds to the needs of the tenants quickly and efficiently. Due to new management, we have a tight knit community at Parkside and our tenants have expressed how nice this is to have and how safe they do feel.
