I appreciate the fact that our previous resident didn't post anonymously (this post being one of two) but for privacy purposes, I will not discuss the specifics regarding the move-out charges referenced. I would like to provide general information about ALOFTâ??s policies. At the time of move-in, each new resident is required to complete a move-in inspection before keys are released. Any pre-existing damage in the apartment will be noted on that move-in inspection, which is signed by both parties. Move-out charges will be assessed based on the move-in inspection and also based on the â??Cost of Moving Lease Addendumâ?? which is also signed by both parties at the time of move-in. The addendum is very straightforward and detailed regarding possible future move-out charges. If a resident is not home to accept their deliveries, we accept them from the carrier on the residentâ??s behalf. This is a service provided with the thought that picking up a package at the ALOFT office is more convenient than picking it up at the Post Office, UPS pick-up location, FedEx center, etc. We ask each resident to sign a waiver allowing us to accept packages on their behalf. If a resident prefers to pick up their missed deliveries at the Post Office (or other carrier location) they may opt out of the package acceptance service at any time. It is true that package acceptance is during office hours only. Regretfully, it is also true that there was a dog who mistook our lobby couch for a tree one time. This was a one-time occurrence. The garbage chute door was not operating optimally because we had a very difficult time locating the part needed to repair it. Eventually, we found a company who made a custom part for us. Waiting for it to be manufactured delayed the process even more. There were several residents who reported the problem, which we appreciate very much, and most were very understanding of the reason for this delay. We ordered a spare part so if this ever happens again, we have an immediate solution. I understand that perception is reality and there were a lot of factors that caused the person writing this review to perceive that the staff does not care about reported concerns. I can assure people reading this reply that the opposite is true. While there had been staff turnover in the office, the current office team is very stable, competent, and customer service oriented. Our Maintenance Supervisor has been with the property since it was built and our Maintenance Tech has been with ALOFT for over 5 years. They continually receive compliments from residents who have grown to know them as neighbors. While we canâ??t control everything that happens in the mixed-use community, such as an occasional beeping car alarm, we are dedicated to responding quickly to other requests. The majority of non-emergency maintenance work orders, such as light bulb changes, are completed within 24-hours. We strive to provide the best service possible as we are concerned about each and every residentâ??s individual needs and requests. Thank you.

This is spam. Please disregard. Nothing stated in this post is true. ALOFT Apartments is one of the most sought out, desirable communities in the area. We are 100% full and each month a great majority of residents renew their leases for additional terms. That certainly wouldn't be the case if anything in this post were true. Unfortunately, this is one of those posts that make a site like this somewhat unreliable.

We frequently work with people moving from another city, most often due to a job transfer. That can be a tough adjustment for some but we often receive feedback similar to this post. Many find that living at ALOFT Apartments, a part of the The Glen Town Center, makes the transition from another city a bit easier. There's plenty of fun to be had with many shopping, dining, and entertainment options right at your doorstep! Thanks for the post.

The first post was added 4/8/11 and I am not familiar with the details of that particular situation. I know that there was damage from a storm in 2011 and that the damage was repaired. Unfortunately, there were a lot of storms that year and many buildings in the area were damaged. The contractor that repaired the buildings at ALOFT did an excellent job. Regarding the comment to the post: -The two signs with letters falling off were replaced. -The trash chute door was broken and the replacement part for it had to be custom made before it could be replaced. The customization took 3 weeks. While we regret that there was a lag time, the truth is that the chute remained covered and usable the entire time and there were no odor or bug issues caused from this. -I am not aware of the Game Stop issue but construction is not permitted early in the morning or late at night, per village ordinance. -There was a car alarm that went off several nights in a row. A few residents called to report it and I'm sure it was very irritating. We took the complaint very seriously and tried to find the car's owner to notify them of their malfunctioning alarm. Unfortunately, since the car did not belong to an ALOFT resident, we were unable to find a person to contact. The vehicle was parked in the public garage. -We accept packages for residents who are not home to receive their deliveries. We hold them for several weeks and if they are not picked up, the delivery service (usually USPS/UPS/FedEx, etc.) will leave multiple notices at the mailbox. If the parcel is still not retrieved, our office sends a final notice mentioning that we will return the package to the original sender. Any time a resident calls and asks us to hold a package for an extended period of time, we are more than happy to do so. If I was a prospective resident reading this post, I would be concerned about renting at ALOFT. However, when the details are analyzed, it becomes clear that there are reasonable explanations for the complaints mentioned. Please review some of the positive posts. Thank you!
It seems like this is a real post and I think the author was fair in his/her review. I would like to answer to some of the negatives. As far as noise, I really don't get a lot of complaints. Every now and then I'll receive one but the issue is usually very quickly resolved by contacting the resident accused of making the noise and then gently explaining the details of the complaint. Most often, people are not aware that they're disturbing others. Once they are notofied, they are usually more than willing to change their patterns and the problem is solved. (This is always done confidentally.) The fitness center isn't huge but it's big enough for several bikes, treadmills, and weight machines. It's great to have that amentiy on-site but for those interested in additional recreation, the Glenview Park District is within walking distance. It's a new facility with an indoor swimming pool, tennis, basketball, and a running track. It's worth googling Glacier Park as well. This huge park, with several miles of paved and unpaved trails, is located right behind our community. Lastly, please know that we can fix the door seals if you ever have a problem with drafts. I receive a TON of positive feedback regarding the person referenced in this post. In fact, this person was recently promoted from a Maintenance Tech to a Maintenance Supervisor. I have the priviledge of working with one of the most dedicated maintenance professionals I have ever met and I am confident that he will excel in his new role.
