It´s not a bad place, not the best place. Only one washer and dryer per building, $1.25 per load in each machine. Have to go outside then back inside to get to laundry facilities. (Horrid in the rain or snow). Apartment managers are great, but service guys are less than professional. Lawns are kept nice - lots of green space for kids to play. Parking is inadequate - not lighted and not enough for all apartments in building if anyone has more than 1 car. Apartment itself has large living spaces, kitchen is typically small. Appliances are small and old. Carpet not replaced after every renter. Carpet is burber-type, short nap and easy to vacuum. Cats and dogs are allowed - $250/first animal, add´l $250 for next. (too high priced) Only one wall-unit airconditioner in apartment (living room). Must complain to office to get a 2nd one in bedroom. The air conditioners are also very loud - must turn up TV/radio to full blast to hear over it, cannot be in the same room when on the phone. On the upside, the train station is only a 1/2 mile away, so within walking distance to get into Chicago. Grayslake itself is a great place to live, low crime, and great small-town feel. Apartment is only blocks away from the grocery store and gas station. Highways near by. Two different train tracks are nearby, they take awhile to get used to, but once you do, the freight trains help you sleep at night.
