Resident 2014

7/1/2014

DO NOT LIVE HERE. The rent is quite expensive for the surrounding area for what you actually get. Everything in the apartment from the shelving in the kitchen cupboards to the bathtub faucets that don't drain properly to the crooked electrical outlets on the wallets obviously shows how poorly and cheaply made this apartment is. The staff and maintenance crew are nice but don't let this deceive you. You can tell that management cut corners and used the cheapest possible materials when making these apartments. Our shelves in our kitchen kept collapsing and were held up only by these weird plasticy things on the side that obviously weren't functional because they kept falling. Our dishwasher would leave a filthy, grainy layer of sandy stuff on our dishes after every wash. The garbage disposal would make a loud noise but never drain properly. Sometimes I had to stick a fork and knife through the sink just to push the food through the hole to get through to the garbage disposal, and this smelled. The thermostat controller on the wall is also VERY old. It is manual, not digital, and I haven't seen controllers like this since the 70's. This makes it very difficult to set the actual temperature that you want to keep your place at. This wasn't that much of an issue but just annoying. The bathtub never drained properly and for some reason, the toilet would randomly make these noises in the middle of the night. When taking a shower, I had to often hurry up because the hot water would run out in 6 minutes. Imagine trying to take a shower in the winter but being forced to get out so quickly. The walls are also quite thin as you can hear your neighbors while you are in your bedroom going to the bathroom or having conversations with people. Often times, this would wake me up in the middle of the night. Sometimes the neighbors throw loud parties at night too. There also seems to be an infestation of bugs in these apartments as I had several in my apartment since day 1 of me moving in and several in the hallway. GROSS! I contacted maintenance about all of these issues, but after a while, especially when you work or have children, it becomes rather cumbersome and irritating. I have NEVER had this many issues with ANY apartment complex I have lived in. NEVER! I would definitely not live here again. I'm so happy I moved out. I found several other surrounding apartment complexes that may be a little bit more in rent, but are definitely worth it with the quality of their apartments. Save your time and money and don't introduce your family and kids to this cheaply made place. You may feel fine in the first month, but after everything starts falling apart in your apartment, you will regret it, no doubt.
