I signed my lease July 2016, so I have not been here for an entire year, yet. I have a lake view from both of my balconies. I have beach access and my apartments has a washer/dryer in it. The apartment is just enough space for me and my dog and was in good condition at move in. Even though it is in good condition, I am looking forward to the upgrades scheduled for the end of this month! THE PROS: (i) This past summer they replaced about half of the parking lot, so it is new asphalt. On the back side of the building they replaced the old retaining walls! I hope they come up with some really great landscaping for the inside of the new walls. I look forward to more landscaping improvements! (ii) The price! My previous apartment was $300 more than what I am paying now & my rent was going to increase by $100 with very little property improvements. (iii) Lake Villa is a small, quaint town and the property is a small community. I share one wall with one other person, and that is it! I am taking a couple of classes at CLC & work in Gurnee, the commute is short. I am close to a couple of nice forest preserves, which works out great for my morning runs and evening walks with the dog. Water/Sewer/Trash is included in my rent! The last place I was at, every month I paid a $40 water/trash bill for ONE person. The CONS: Typically around the beginning of the month (when everyone is moving out) the trash areas are full.
