Resident 2015 - 2016

8/7/2016

I have absolutely hated living in this apartment complex. To start with, when we moved in I was told that the problems small problems I saw would be fixed. They were not. All the problems in the bathroom (cracks in the tub and mold) were just painted over with primer. A month into living in the unit it all started to crack and peel off revealing the black mold underneath. The circulation in the unit is horrible. Ever time we turn on the oven the smoke detectors go off. That is not just in our unit either, I've had other new neighbors come over to ask if that is normal. The walls are so thin I can hear people sneeze in units down the hall. The laundry is down the hall in the stair well, which is also not kept up at all. People will urinate in the stairwells and elevator and is never cleaned up. When the machines break it takes about 2 - 4 weeks for them to be fixed. In a building of 32 units there are only 4 washers and 4 dryers and all are coin operated. You are given less than 24 hour notice of any maintenance going on in the hallways and/or unit. In the lease you are told that there is a 24 hour maintenance guarantee. This is a lie. I was followed up to my apartment twice while living here and every time I called the leasing office before calling the police they said "if maintenance is still on the property we'll have them escort the person off the property" and then hung up on me before I could describe the person. We had 6 packages stolen and there was a burglary in the building. It took management 2 months to notify the building of the problems with the security of the doors. I found out early because I had contacted the police and they were able to tell me about it. As a 23 year old female the security concerns had me scared for my life. Before living here I never felt the need for pepper spray or other ways to protect myself. I have always been confident and aware of my surroundings but I started having to carry pepper spray with me just to do my laundry. There is only one elevator in the building and when someone vomited half in and half in the entry way, right in front of the door, it took maintenance 8 days to clean it. In that time I had been calling and emailing with no response. I will be posting a picture of this so if anyone reading the review is not comfortable with seeing the image I suggest careful scrolling through or avoiding the pictures as a whole. There have also been problems with excessive vandalism. Profanity written and carved into the elevator, as well as images of inappropriate body parts carved into walls. Those have been there for about 8 months. This review only contains about half of the problems I have had with living in this apartment complex. I strongly encourage everyone to be careful with leasing from these people. They will be very warm and inviting in the beginning but once you sign the lease they no longer care about you.
