Resident 2003 - 2004

10/31/2004

I moved out of 5th Ave Station Apartments about 3 months ago, came across this website and felt I needed to write in a comment. When I first moved into 5th Avenue Station Apts I was charmed by the "loft style" apartments, stores and restraunts on the first floor. Within the first week of living there I realized what a mistake I had made moving into the building. Apparently some of the units have hardwood floors. Each morning my upstairs neighbors alarm clock would wake me up at 5:00am and he/she would continue to push the snooze button until 6:00am. When I was home I would constantly hear my upstairs neighbor stomping around, dropping things on the floor and slamming their cabinet doors. Besides the problem I was having with my upstairs neighbor I was also getting woken up at all hours of the night by people in the hallways giggling, laughing and slamming doors. I complained to the builing management about the noise and nothing happened. Since North Central College is in the vicinity I assume there were many students living in the building because I felt like I was living in a dorm! I paid $880 for a studio apartment and it was not worth it! The building is extremely noisy due to the the large amount of college age renters in the building.
