I lived in this complex for over a year. It's not a terrible place. However in my time there were was a number of violent issues. There were several drug dealers that seemed to live in the area, a women was run over with a stolen car and the people living in the nearby apartment assisted in the drivers escape. Several parties did physical damage to the property. Several times I heard gun shots, that perhaps was the scariest thing. The manager was aware of these issues and I saw him, with my own eyes, report the crimes and the people involved. I know the fault is not with him. However I would see him shortly after and he would look discouraged. Nothing would change. The same tenants that had been causing issues would remain. I assumed that higher ups were blocking his doing anything and he always said that the tenants causing issues were good about paying rent and left it at that. There was more going on but I never found out the full story. I just left. If the drug and violence issue has been cleaned up, and I hope that it has, I can tell you that the apartments are rather nice. The kitchens are small but include a stove, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The washer/dryer are small but included with the apartment and adds no additional cost. You just have to have a laundry day, and that's hardly a huge deal. The bedrooms are sizable and the closets a nice size indeed. Make sure the windows are fully sealed, that was one issue I had. But other then that the place it truly nice. One last note. The apartments had assigned parking spots per unit. This was the best parking solution I've seen in my time in Bloomington-Normal thus far. It saved so much grief with not running out of spots and always having a place to park when coming home with groceries. I wish more places would adopt it. So check out the crime angle but if that is good this is a good and homey place to settle in.
