I am currently in the military and love it here. I am located on the first floor and my apartment is half underground which in turn keeps my energy bill minimal. The appliances provided (washer/dryer, stove, dishwasher, and fridge) seemed fairly new, my only complaint was the stove top burners would not stay flat and maintenance was quick to repair it. I have contacted maintenance on a couple of occasions and they have gone above and beyond my expectations. The complex is very particular about appearance, which has its pros and cons. I have made a noise complaint in the past about my upstairs neighbors and within 24 hours I would not even know that someone lived above me. I could go either way on the staff. Most of them are friendly but there are a few that are not and shouldn't have a position in customer service. The train is the only thing to consider before moving in here. It is easy to become accustom to the noise but it is a minor inconvience to detour around it when it stops on the tracks. Overall this is a great place to live. There is a total of 6 buildings with all different ages and everyone gets together great when congregating at the pool or gazebo for drinks or a bbq. The price is a little steep but all in all worth it. The location is prime, in a neighborhood(sidewalks), near Scott AFB, bars, restraunts, Target/Walmart etc,. There is a brand new park a block away with a pavillion, baseball fields, a 3 mile track and cool landscaping. I would suggest to at least check em out, you'll like what you see. ***UPDATE*** I received a tasking to go to Iraq and had to leave Brookside Manor. I had no problem with the military clause and after following their cleaning/move out checklist got my deposit back. Like I said earlier, it was awesome living here and if I have don't get orders to leave this area will probably move back.
