Resident 2013 - 2014

5/12/2014

This place is awful. It's spring, the temperatures are rising and it's extremely humid outside, and management refuses to turn on the A/C. When I signed my lease, I was told I have control over the temperature in my apartment. It's currently 84 degrees outside with 80% humidity, and I can't turn on my A/C. It's been like this for the past week. I've brought it up with different members of management, and they simply will not give me a straight answer as to why they refuse to turn on the A/C. I can't even use the gym, because it's unbearably hot. I've attached a picture showing the thermostat in there, where it's set to on, set to cool, and set at 45 degrees, but it's a scorching 85 degrees in there. I actually look forward to going to my dead end job because they at least keep the place at a comfortable 72 degrees. I know I just wrote an entire review based on one thing, but do you really want to live in a place where they'll flat out lie to you? Do you really want to live in a place where you'll toss and turn to fall asleep, and then wake up in a pool of sweat? Do you really want to live in a place where, after a long day of work, you come back to an incubator? A home should be a place where you look forward to living in and somewhere you enjoy being. Oak Park City Apartments is not a suitable place to be called a home... it's a prison, where you sign the lease and you count down the days until it expires so you can leave.
