Resident 2018 - 2019

2/21/2019

This is by far the worst property management company that I have ever experienced. -------- Housing Development took over managing this property about a year now. I have lived here since July 2018. When I moved in, I was told my friend would receive a referral bonus for recommending the property. As of today no referral was issued and that was seven months ago. I requested extra keys for my dog walkers and offered to pay for them. The first time I requested the keys was a week before I move in. I had asked several times and supposedly the leasing agents and property managers were putting the requests in (multiple requests because I never received any extra keys). The property manager would blame the leasing agent, the leasing agent would blame the maintenance manager, the maintenance manager claims never received the requests, and on an on. The first property manager said she would issue me a concession (break on the rent)for the second month's rent, because they failed repeatedly to paint my apartment before my lease started and even two weeks after my lease started did they finally paint the living room. I spoke to her supervisor Angel about this concession and of course never received it. I've called them for repairs multiple times and ask repeatedly that they follow through on specific repairs. They take weeks and now months to repair things and when they do, they don't repair them correctly. Both the bathtub faucet and the kitchen faucet needed to be fixed due to leaks on separate occasions. Both times the maintenance supervisor came out to fix each of those items, and both times he mixed up the hot and cold water. He came out to fix my kitchen faucet from a bad leak over a month ago and switched the direction of the faucet handle mixing up the water hot and cold and the faucet drips. I have been calling repeatedly for them to fix it, and they still haven't. They say they're busy with the snow and the weather. Guess what? It's winter! It comes every year! Why have you not prepared for it appropriately? They're property manger is never onsite. They close the office early at 5pm so by the time you get home they're closed. They're also closed most weekends. They claim there isn't enough traffic or resident calls, and that there aren't many packages for residence to pick up, and in their one newsletter they sent out they say that we have two days to pick up our packages because they don't have the room for it. Which is it? You don't receive many of our packages or you receive so many their isn't any room for them. Plus how do we pick up packages when you aren't open during reasonable hours. The property manager is never there in the afternoons and I don't know how many times the assistant manager has told me she would follow up on my work orders and call me back but doesn't. The maintenance guy complains that he doesn't want the dog waste reciprocals on the property and he never wants to empty them because they're "unsanitary". It's unsanitary when you don't empty them and they start to overflow! I've fallen twice in the property because they don't salt properly, and they don't shovel the side walks enough. This is a common complaint from other neighbors here as well They claim they're making all these improvements to the property but all I've see is that they had sod put down in NOVEMBER! Guess what? It's not going to grow! Sod takes root in the spring and summer because it requires a lot of watering. The management company has no experience managing a market property, meaning a property where individuals pay their own rent rather than pay via section 8 or a tax credit program. So rather than being focused on customer service, they send out notices that they're going to charge people violation fees all the time. What are these violations, when you don't even have written rules to violate!?!? They now charge residence $20 a year to park on the property per vehicle and $25 per visitor tag, per year, and an additional $7 every time a visitor tag is used! You can't have a friend over past 11pm because that's when they start towing. I was told by the leasing agent, they're looking for investors because of they can't afford the cost of all the improvements that promised. They no longer offer recycling, because they claim that residents where placing trash in the garbage. They garbage now is constantly overflowing and theirs trash outside of the dumpsters. Perhaps garbage was going into recycling because you don't have enough garbage picks per week. They staple notices to the walls in the common area about events that have long past but never remove them. The property could have been really decent but the property management company is truly horrible, unprofessional, and lazy! So extremely lazy! I would never recommend this place!
