The first year of living here was great. No issues, no problems. Maintenance was fast and friendly when needed. Sure, the rent was a bit much, but it was worth it to be in an apartment not in the hood in Peoria. After our upstairs neighbors moved out, all hell broke loose. They soon rented the apartment up and across out to hoodrats who would not stop blaring music and having parties, where drunken (seemlingly homeless) men would FALL down the stairs with alcohol still in hand. Then they rented the apartment out above us to a huge family of people who did not speak English (which is fine, but frustrating), and did not bathe, which stunk up the hallway leading to our apartment terribly. The buildings are connected, and the person in the building opposite has decided to blare music at ungodly hours of the night. And now, finally, our neighbors below us have decided screaming contests sound like great forms of social interaction at 11:30pm the day before Thanksgiving. This was a horrible mistake I will not make again. I have had to call the police 3 times in 2 months, and I've just given up calling them, and the landlord, because nothing ever happens. I called them last night for the neighbors in the NEXT BUILDING, and am tempted to again tonight for the ones below me, but nothing will come of it, so why bother? I also called the emergency line last night and left a message for the landlord, who never called me back.
