Resident 2011 - 2015

6/17/2015

I lived here for 4 years during vet school, and it was a really great place. Although there is an investment that you must make up front, that meant cheaper rent and I even made some money in equity when I left. If you're interested in living here, there is sometimes a waitlist so call as soon as possible. I definitely felt safe. Winfield is probably about 1/3rd young families, 1/3rd older adults, and 1/3rd grad students (lots of vet students since there aren't breed restrictions on dogs). Although the buildings are older, they are pretty well maintained. In addition, the grounds are well up kept and the maintenance staff is usually quick to respond to requests. It's also in a good location. About a 5 minute drive to campus. Walking distance to Schnucks and a 2 minute drive to Walmart. Although I didn't use it, the bus ran through the community. The only drawback to the location is that the train runs right by. I had friends who lived at various apartment complexes throughout champaign/urbana/savoy, and I really think this is the best value in the area.
