Resident 2011 Recommended
Reviewed 07/11/2011
I was a resident at the Chateau Royale from 1999-2010, and I would still be living there if I hadn't had the opportunity to buy a place of my own. The "Chat" as I affectionately call it, is situated on a secure cul-de-sac that abuts the forest preserve. Management makes every effort to ensure a life of ease and convenience: from the elegant lobby, to the grocery carts provided for easy transporting of purchases, to the elevator, to the trash chute on every floor, to prompt snow-plowing of the ample parking lot. Reassuringly, the maintenance man lives on site. The laundry room is always clean and the machines are new. The fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment, sauna, jacuzzi, and a big, beautifully furnished community room (with kitchen and bathroom) that can be reserved for parties... are all for the price of living at the Chateau! After my first two years, I upgraded from a 1-bdrm 1 bath to a 2-bdrm 1&1/2 bath. In the 2 bdrm, the master w/ its own 1/2 bath is huge! as is the walk-in closet. The apartments are not "open floor plan", which is what I prefer. There's plenty of cabinets and a pantry in the eat-in kitchen. All appliances are up-dated as needed. My only complaints I had were that in the apts. I lived in, all windows faced west, so no cross breeze; and no central A/C. Otherwise, the Chateau Royale is a spotless, safe, quiet bldg. I made lots of friends there, and the staff made me (along w/ my cat) feel, not like just another tenant, but part of the family.
