The management is very accommodating. I was initially supposed to move into Chateau on Aug 2008, which I was lucky to get since they were booked solid. I later found out my current apartment lease was expiring end of June! Already ready to accept the disaster of having to move to a temporary dwelling and storage, I figured there's no harm in asking if there was a remote chance of being able to move in earlier. And lucky me, they said it was okay and that they'd make sure my apartment would be ready by then. And it was, and my unit looked brand spanking new! The unit itself is charming to say the least. It was a 1 bedroom unit, but it has enough space for a living room and dining room, and you can still fit a small table or bar/cart in the kitchen. There's also a balcony (for 2nd/3rd floor units) or a patio (for 1st) so you get to connect with nature. I've used the dry sauna from time to time... and it has always been clean and well maintained. The exercise room has ample machines to keep you busy too. There's also a function room and a guest room that can be checked out, however, I hadn't had the chance to use them since the unit was more than enough to keep my guests entertained. Location is also excellent! The Greenbelt Forest Preserve is only walking distance away. Right outside are some varied food choices. My personal favorite is Gojo's... it's a 24-hour family restaurant... just Yelp it. Other than that, there's also Pizza Hut, IHOP, White Castle, Dunkin Donuts, Brown's Chicken, and some mexican places. There's a nearby "mall" too, but for the real deal, you'd want Gurnee Mills, and that would be a 10min drive. The neighbors are particularly quiet... probably has something to do with age/demographics. Actually, this apartment is very "age-friendly"... but I don't think I'm qualified to review those services. If I had the choice to stay in Waukegan, I wouldn't have left this apartment. It's truly a gem in the rough.
