King Arthur Westmont Apts
Resident · 2003 - 2009
I've lived here since April 2003. My current lease expires in 2010 and the only reason I won't be renewing is because I'm getting married and moving into my fiancee's home. I love this place. The apartments are very spacious and comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful and well maintained. The location is perfect because you're close to all the major tollways and highways. Downtown Westmont is changing and becoming very charming. Oak Brook, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Downers Grove, Lisle are all very close and offer great shopping and dining. There has been new management in the last 18 months and they have done remarkable things with improvements. All of the roads and parking areas were repaved this (2009) spring & summer. All the trees on the property have received maintenance and are allowing more light into apartments. The landscaping in front of the some of the buildings has been improved with the removal of some evergreens that were originally planted to close to the buildings. The pool (yes, a pool on site! and very nice) was repainted and given a little bit of personality in addition to some safety upgrades. The area is seldom crowed. The pool is always immaculate. It's one of the things I'll miss the most. Having a secure storage area in the basement is great. The washers and dryers are there. It is a basement laundry room (2 of each appliance). In the years I've been here there's rarely been a time when I couldn't access at least one washer or dryer. The buildings do have individual owners (some own more than one building) and certain upgrades have been done to some buildings and not others. Two of the buildings have new windows and exterior doors. I believe most of the kitchens throughout the complex have been upgraded. Be sure to get one with a newer kitchen. I've never known safety to be an issue here. It's well lit and if there's ever a problem with a light being out it only takes a phone call to have it replaced. I've never had a problem with a maintenance issue and have always found the staff to be very responsive to requests. I would recommend King Arthur Apartments to anyone. I think it's a hidden gem in the western suburbs.
