I lived in these apartments for about a year and a half. There is no management on the premises, which can be a pain at times.
Also, parking is awful if you have more than one car or frequent visitors. No one without a parking permit can be in the lot after 6pm. Speaking of the parking lot, a section of it was dug up to address a plumbing problem (months ago) and has not been repaved- only filled with gravel. A few tennants continue to sit on the front steps to smoke/talk on cell phones during the summer- even after memos from management reminding everyone not to loiter.
Security has been an issue a few times during my stay. Once, I left my apartment around midnight and found a man (homeless? drunk?) sprawled out on the landing between floors in the hallway sleeping. It seems a lock on the front doors (where none exists currently) would prevent "unwanted" visitors.
If you don´t want to pay for cable, you should plan on watching a lot of movies. The building´s antenna is useless. The building owners refuse to fix it, saying tennants can get cable if they want better reception.
While this apartment IS convenient for commuters using the train to get downtown (the original reason I was attracted to it), it´s not worth the other hassels. I´ve lived in much better apartments.
